Mr.
Woodison manages the Information Technology (IT) Audit function of the
Board of Regents, University System of Georgia. He is responsible for
risk
assessment and reviewing, testing and ensuring that all IT systems,
architectures,
processes and controls of the University System meet best practices
and legal
requirements. He sits on the Risk Management Committee and is involved
in
controls review of new systems, implementation of new legal requirements
and
incident response handling for cyber incidents. In his position he is
responsible
for the 34 higher education institutions within the University System
including
research universities such as Georgia Institute of Technology, Georgia
State
University, Medical College of Georgia and University of Georgia, as
well as the
Public Library System of Georgia.
Prior to joining the University
System, Scott served as the Director of Systems
Security and Enterprise Security Strategist for the CheckFree Corporation,
Norcross, GA. In this position Scott managed departments responsible
for
Security Architecture, IT Audit Support, Data Privacy, and Security
Engineering.
Scott has previously held senior management and technical positions
in the
security field with IBM, Hitachi, and EDS.
Scott was recently named
as a nominee for the Security Executive of the Year for
Georgia. He is a founding member of the Atlanta InfraGard chapter and
is on
the Board of Directors and also serves as its membership chairman. Scott
is the
recipient of two Exceptional Service Awards from the Federal Bureau
of
Investigation for his work with InfraGard and computer security in Georgia.
Scott is also a member of the Information Systems Security Association,
Georgia
Electronic Commerce Association and Information Security Society of
the
Technical Association of Georgia. Scott holds a BSEE and MBA from the
University of Michigan. He is married with two grown children in the
Atlanta
area.
