ORLANDO, Fla. -- State and federal recovery programs are helping Floridians in need of disaster assistance after Tropical Storm Fay saturated large portions of the state for 11 days in late August.

ORLANDO, Fla. -- People affected by Tropical Storm Fay who possess legal, permanent resident cards (INS Form I-551, often referred to as a "Green Card") are eligible to apply for federal disaster assistance if they reside in one of the 10 Florida counties - Brevard, Duval, Hendry, Lee, Leon, Okeechobee, Seminole, St. Lucie, Volusia and Wakulla - that received a major disaster declaration by President George W. Bush.
BATON ROUGE – The Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is working with its federal, state and local partners to remind those that fled Hurricane Gustav to remain in place until state and local officials announce it is safe to return.
CLINTON, Miss. -- Employees of FEMA's Transitional Recovery Office (TRO) in Biloxi are returning to the Gulf Coast following the pass through by Hurricane Gustav. The TRO temporarily relocated essential services to Clinton as the storm approached. "We are in the process of reconstituting full operations at the Biloxi TRO within the next two days," said Benjamin Watson, Acting Director Mississippi TRO.
